Bubba is broken!

I'm now mammy'ing her, something I never thought I would do with my akita:o
We set off for walks yesterday and when she got out of the van she was dragging a hind leg:confused:
I' not sure why because I should have thought cruciate 1st and foremost, but instead (bone cancer) stuck in me head, it actually looked fractured, and there is no way she could break a leg without immense force with such bone structure!
Rushed straight back to mams vets where I had been grooming all day:rolleyes:, as my place shuts earlier than theirs, and with a bit of a wiggle it seems her cruciate is well and truely busted (this has been happening over a period) then ping!:(
hence why I never notcied a thing, and she is not an overly bouncy dog (only when playing), unlike the bouncy rotti.

So pain relief and rest, (horrible seeing her incapacitated) not used to her being weak in any way, she never flnched when vet had a good jiggle, an she looked at me and said "what ever is wrong here are we likely to see any pain reaction from such a beast of a dog"? lol:D I said "well no" you won't, she does not feel pain:p

So she is to be X rayed on Tue and repaired (we can rebuild you) im praying to god anyway.
Im still not discounting the bone cancer but vet at mams practice is 90% sure it's the cruciate.

I also found a dead bird in her kennel (wonder if she has jumped for that) and BUSTED! her leg.:rolleyes:

So vibes for bubbabear :)
 
Oh poor Bubba dog. What is it with some of us and blasted cruciates? Sage is going to have to have her 2nd one done. Am hanging on til we have been away as don''t want to leave the dogsitter with her. She is such a pain when she's been done!!
Between us I reckon you and I (and a few others) could do our own ops we've had that many. :(
 
AAF poor girl:( If I was going to pinch any of your dogs it would be Bubba thats if she would let me in to do it:D)

Hope she heals quickly and its not what you fear, I had never heard of bone cancer till I came on here. Ignorance is bliss.

Thanks everyone:) she looks so sad:( bless her) like as said to Vizzy, arron said she is prob thinking "this leg is useless now, and chew it off" which is so right the type of dogs she is:D she looks rather Peed off that it's not functioning.

I will sort walk and also you coming to stay Dingey, im off work soon so will sort it for then, my sis is taking yonks with her house:rolleyes:

It's bloody awful, I never thoughts bubs would go:( I waited for regans 2nd one, but I ont think bubba can wait, she is far bulkier than regan or any rotti lol and is really struggling. Im hoping X ray and op on Tue, if work is not manic.
 
Oh no, massive vibes for Bubba :( Hope it's soon fixed and she's back to normal. She and Regan are my joint faves from your motley crew! :D

They are mine too;) as in favourites and they worry me alot more when something is u with them, I will give bubba the well wishes.:)
 
What a drag to have to start over with this again with another dog so soon after Regan. Poor Bubba! Her now-bionic friend Willie sends his best wishes to her and tells her that it's not really so terrible being the sick one for a little bit and getting all the attention :).
 
she chewed that leg off yet?! :p :D I'd be suprised if it lasts til the xrays on tuesday! POOR Bubs! Although the bloody beast needs no sympathy, I'm sure she wont appreciate it! I shall annoy her none the less by saying 'poor iccle bubba wubba hope your leggy weggy is all mended soon poor iccle floofy doggy woggy' :D Of course, I shall do that from behind a laptop....so my leg doesnt get chewed off too! :p :D :D

Loving the fact she had a dead bird in her bed :D :D
