Bubbas first ride!!!

Bronced off twice :(

She is happy being sat on, leant over, lunged etc......sat on and asked her to move forward and she flipped :(

Rest assured it's not the end of the world. My homebred [now 12 yr old] T.B. mare did the same as a three year old, newly backed and asked to move forward for the first time. Mine was simply confused - not being mean, and we just needed to go back a few steps and progress a tad slower. It helped to have a helper on the ground to reassure her and we kept the sessions very short initially. On and off before she could decide to flip out. Very soon she understood everything was okay with the person 'up there' and she was happily walking out with another horse a couple of weeks later.

I'm sure you'll be fine if you don't let this little set-back rattle you too much. Do you have a helper on the ground to help you?

it has been suggest i tie trainer to stirrups and lunge like that, i am not convinced......

I wouldnt do that, if you want to get her used something and not land on the floor a dummy can be can be quite good but very well secured. It will get her used to have something on top but it wont come off when she intially flips.

Although to be honest whenever ive done them they usually go mad when there not quite ready for the stage your at. Usually when there ready they tend to accept it although some dont and you have to ride it our which can be fun!!!;)
