Lottie is still a very good girl, she's just a little lame.
She's had a few days off in the run up to Christmas. In fact I'd only ridden her 3 times at walk with a little trot in the saddle that hasn't yet been checked, but everyone (some very experienced people) who looked at it thought it looked a pretty good fit.
Lunged her today fine on L rein breaking into canter a bit though and falling in, which isn't like her, onto right rein and looked unsound in front. Others agreed.
Took her in no heat in legs or feet at all so I did a little bit of ET with her (I've done level 1 and 2). She had a big reaction to anything abound her shoulders on both sides, left more than right. On the left she had a very obvious pain reaction to a very very gentle non-invasive soft tissue technique. I think she may have pulled something in the field (v wet and slippery) but obviously could be compensating for something else and the saddle won't go near her until it's checked, although I have lunged her after the last time I rode her and she was fine. Very good in fact.
Plan is to stay in tomorrow, walk in hand and try a little more ET if she'll let me (I won't push it) and get the vet if she is no better monday. I need to have her second jabs anyway so I'll get them to check her over and do jabs at the same time. I have a friend who is a vet Physio (I'm a Physio) and I was planning on getting her out anyway.
Feel very bad for my baby pony. I was looking forward to starting to do more with her over my holiday (I am off until the 6th) but never mind. Fingers crossed it's nothing too bad.
