In an attempt to explain the majority of the pics – I was very lucky to go to Holland with a few others to visit a forum member and had such a funny time – cheap bubbly on the boat defiantly aided though
We got to see an insight in the life in Holland and how different everything is –some of which is very shocking
But to keep it short I’ll just show you the horsey stuff…….

Pics of our visit to the stallion station where we saw some very famous boys and some stars In the making
Plus we were in total awe of being in such a posh place and how trusting they were for us to just walk around!!

We also saw Painted Black (wow lucky young girl who now has him!) and a few others but forgot to take pics

And the Gribaldi tribute was lovely:

And Horse-World – a show nothing like what we have in the UK which was fab!
An international championship was taking place and It was also the final stop for many WEG bound Dutch riders so it was a great farewell party atmosphere!
(hurdy-gurdy-durdy refers to our knowledge of the Dutch language so it was rather interesting listening to demos ;) )

I took advantage of the cheap Anky things (the new grey pad and bandages and another 3 sets of bandages but might sell two as there not his colour :p ) and got a lovely rug too so thought a photo shoot was in order (plus his snuggies arrived)

Over the shoulder look as often seen by the top models

Pony now has a few days off as just had his flu jabs and put the old girls to shame by not flinching one bit!!
But fruit cider and pie and salad on offer to those that reply and get through this post :)

Lovely pictures. In the first few, that indoor arena is a work of art! Think of all the grotty farm barns with sand in that we use in this country! I spent a long time in France at a big yard there but their facilities were a bit aged, but similar in that it looks like a normal interior, not a shed/barn.

Thanks for sharing that - loved all of it!

Particularly liked the Bitpiste and 'hurdy-gurdy'. Did you find that even when you spoke English, you ended up copying the Dutch accent?! I had a Dutch boyfriend years ago and find it very hard not to slip into 'pseudoDutch' when I go to Holland!!!

fleabitten - that arena made feel like a right slob :p i came home and started to attack the cobwebs we have in our stables

kit luckily most spoke English and our hosts were Geordie so we we're quite at home ;) but their English has an american twang to it
by the end of the trip we felt we could speak Dutch until the Captin of the ferry started speaking that is

Wow you were so lucky to go there and see all that. Lovely arena's and stables. I thought the leopard look was for flies:eek::D

Thank you for sharing.:)

Really enjoyed looking at the pics thanks for posting them, you must have had a great time.

Do feel a little sorry for your lad in his jammies though............;)

What a fab post! How lucky are you :-)

Eye candying Lips....good looking but I think Im old enough to be his mother.

Prospect son in law perhaps if you havent snapped him up already !

Oh langside - what a fab post!!! Soooo interesting and quite jealous of your adventure, I think I may have to drag some friends on the "Langside Holland tour" next year!! As my boy is a KWPN bred in Holldan it makes it all the more interesting to see where he may have come from! He must really feel he's slumming it here on the farm in Yorkshire!!! At the end the pics of your boy in the leaopard print nearly killed me. OH says he's going to get some for Remy!!! Please god, noooooooooooooooooooo!!

Wow lucky you, what an experience to go round those gorgeous stables, :D

Agree with Figjam though, think pony will get his own back on you putting him in those PJ's, LOL :D

thank for all the replies

angelish- I know but better before than after - poo is not a good look with leopard ;)

FrodoBeutin- We went on the Pride of Rotterdam - was rather shocked we were let back on after our antics going :p but it was very funny especially stealing a mattress and have the security guards chase us  :p althought the 5am wake up was not fun esp when you don't get to bed until 1am

godknows- I know stable envy or what ;)

alwaysbroke- I could have been more evil and got him pink with sheep print :D

Mavis- thankyou

jumptoit- no not really - his first comp is Wed so we'll wait and see but so far he's been very good - if he freaks out he just stands :p

Liesel- I had to check his age didn't want to be saying that and find out he's 15  ;)

Hels_Bells - im sure if we go back next year you'd be welcome to tag along
just be warned we're all nutters :D And remy would love some jams :D

mil1212- kwpn rug was an utter bargin :) just slightly annoyed its a little big but i had no idea what 6'6 was in cm ;)

alibear- 2011? :D

figjam- don't be silly Harley doesn't have the energy to plot evil plans being a 5yo is far too hard :p

sw66- nonono however if i put them on the beastie i might come out of her stable minus a limb or 2 ;) shes more a zebra print girl :p

nicoleak- hopefully one day i will get a decent camera ;) but glad you enjoyed

Bless him, hope he has a good time - pics and report ;)!
