How does the sizing come up on these? I've a WBxTB 2 year old who's still narrow and leggy, and who's between a 6'3" and 6'6" in T/O rugs ATM. Some 6'3" rugs are fitting her amply, others are looking ridiculously small (i.e. her 6'3" Rambo Wug Plus). I've seen a second hand 6'3" stable rug for sale, and am tempted at the price. Knowing a stable rug can afford to a bit less roomy than a T/O I am wondering if buying the 6'3" Bucas is worth the risk?

I'm going to go against Cronkmooar. I think the sizing is fairly fair. I'd buy the 6'3". My girl has Mahoosive shoulders etc and I can buy 'her size'

I have stable and turnouts and I find they come up pretty normal. My mare is quite large across the chest but her normal size is fine.

ETS haha we cross posted Hellspells.

I know I own a freak in height - now the shock of width too !

My filly, being a big baby, is still very narrow, although she's got a good length of shoulder on her.

I've still had to dart the neck on her 6'3" cotton stable sheet and 6'3" Thermalux rug, to stop the neck moving back behind her withers and chaffing. So maybe the 6'3" Bucas would be okay.

I think my 6'3" Rambo's aren't fitting her well because they have the clip fronts and cannot be adjusted. If I pull one of these 6'3" rugs up, foward enough to accommodate her shoulder comfortably, the rear of the rug is 6" off her dock and the surcingles are under her armpits! A Masta rug in the same size fits her great though, because I can adjust the buckles at the front of the rug. Shame about the Rambo wugs... pity there is no way to make them roomier infront. They cost an arm and a leg to buy

I find the Rambos come up far too narrow with the new fastening and it really pulls across the shoulders

I definitely ditto that.

If I'm having a problem with them fitting the chest of my narrow 2 year old, goodness knows how the same style rug will fit her once she's fully filled out and muscled up as a mature horse in work. I've always liked Rambo's but then again, I've only previously kept narrow(ish) TB's.

Measured with a tape for a rug, my filly is a 6'3" size. So, it does seem a shame that the expensive Rambo's I've got in that size don't fit her.

How bizarre

I use rhino's on mine and they fit well - perhaps they do alter the width in a 7'3" rug - if only they would alter the depth

I've used a Horsewear Amigo lighweight turnout rug this summer and it's fitted just fine. But then again, it doesn't have the Patented 'V' front closure system that the Rhino and Rambo Wug rugs have.

I love the Bucas rugs I have. Like you I find the fastening on the Rambo rugs makes them too tight. I have to go up a size from normal when using them.

My very narrow but tall two year old wintered out with an old style Weaatherbeeta TAKA which was a great fit and didn't move or rub him.

Yes, I agree about the Takka. That's what I used last winter. Someone gave me one to use. Thought it was excellent.

I think the Rambo's are great rugs, but I'd definitely need to go up a size for one to fit my filly.
I've numerous 6' and 6'3" ones and it's just a shame I can't use the 6'3" ones which should fit my filly as she does measure a tad under 6'3" for a rug. Sadly, I am not inclined to buy new Rambo's in the larger size right now; 1) I am skint and, 2) knowing my luck, the filly will keep growing.....
