I know it's not a competition post, but I'm scared to post anywhere else ;)

I brought madam a Bucas Irish Stable rug earlier in the year in a sale, and now don't want to use any other rug on her!! It's AMAZING, dead light weight to handle and keeps her at the perfect temperature without any under rugs etc... keeps her warmer on its own than with a second rug too!

I now want a lightweight/medium turnout for the spring, and am on the look out, but they are quite pricey...anyone know where to get them cheap(er)? I've looked at Discount Equestrian and Tosco rugs so far...

Nope, not really you will have to google and compare for best online prices. I have 2 Bucas rugs, one i got second hand then it got wrecked and repaired and is still going strong and is fab, the other new this year a Bucas power extra has been fab (totally worth the money) I am thinking of investing in the summer version but will have to save for that... Unfortunately they don't come up second hand very often and are a bit like gold dust presumably cos they are so good...;-)

I have the same rug for Mr, I love it, shame it doesnt have an attachment for a neck cover though.
Inter equine have 15% off thats where I bought mine. I also have a sunshower for the summer, its fantastic

I bought a brand new - in bag Bucas Power Turn out from Ebay originally saved about £60 in total. Had to do a bit of waiting until the correct one became available but definitely worth the wait

Have tried every rug company in the world over the last 20 years and swear by Bucus. I only use them now and also Wug's.

I originally started using the Irish as was one of the only rugs on the market at the time without shoulder darts which my horse KEPT on ripping and also as they allow so much room up front rubbed him.

I have a full wardrobe of the range and can say hand on heart they have never ever rubbed or leaked.

Bit more to invest but cheaper if you think about re-prooofing and anti-rub vests?

The summer version is fab as breathable and water proof

Just wish they did a higher neck cut in the heavy weight version as mine wont wear a hood - hence the Wug (rambo) is fab as cut half way up his neck

I saw them on offer in the last few days... think it was Derby House!

Can highly recommend them, I've got the Sun Shower which is soooo useful on those warm, showery days and also the Power Turnout with neck that I'm using at the moment. Although I haven't tried it yet you can supposedly put it on a wet horse like you would a sweat rug so it cuts down on rug changes and covers temps from -15 to +18 (or something like that!).

Well worth the money.

Bucas now have a factory shop in Cork selling seconds so if you know anyone in the area there are definitely bargains to be had. :)

I'm a convert to bucas too, now have an equal mix of bucas and Rambos - they are cut differently so tend to be an either/or depending on shape of rug.

I've got sun shower (prob most useful rug ever!), 50g Irish turnout, light Celtic stable (again very handy) and a medium Celtic stable.

I tend to buy mine from tosca

I have a couple for sale both brand new - Bucas Irish turnout and removable hood, size 6'0. 300g fill. £125

Bucas Smartex medium turnout with removable neck cover. Size 6'3. Stay-Dry Fleece & 150g Thermobonded Polyester wadding. £200

My local tackshop has a sale on Bucas rugs 35% off! I went in there today and treated my horse to one after reading this thread :). Is there no places on the internet holding a sale or ebay? That is where I would look.

I bought the Celtic stabel rug with the fancy lining. So you can bung it on your horse wet- god I love it

The fit on there rugs are amazing.

Tosca rugs, had to send first one back as was too small they were fab o deal with and I will use them agin.
