BUCAS Rugs

Are they really worth the money??

I personally believe so. In comparison to other "top" brands the cost is not that disimilar (thinking of the likes of top rambo range etc. I may be wrong here as haven't honestly looked recently) I've had a Bucas for several years now, think something like 5+ years, it's never been reproofed or anything and it's still great. My horse is turned out in the day time in winter and it's been in heavy use for the past two years. I've recently bought a new Smartex with full neck attachment and that'll be going on this winter.

They are very good as you can put them on wet horses without the worry of them over heating etc.

I strongly recommend them if your pocket stretches! Only issue I'd say is the fit.

Bucas rugs are totally the best. They are well worth the money. The Power Turnout is amazing, horse lives in it all winter in stable and out, never rubs, rarely needs an extra layer, totally waterproof, warm, comfy, and after two years still looks like new.

Well worth the money. Probably the best rugs around.

My horses live in Bucas rugs! The Smartex turnout is fab for this time of year, the Fleece rug is lovely and warm for the winter and the Power cooler is fab too. They last for years, my horse still has some Bucas rugs that I bought when he was 5 and he's 13 now! They are just fab and well worth the money, the fit is good and so is the quality.

Would take Rambo or even Rhino over Buscas any day, have had several Bucas ones and only had one that was any way successful. Do like the the coolers though apart from the static issue.

Agree - Buccas excellent quality and fit - better than Rambo I would say. I have one thats 6/7 years old and still going strong. Harder wearing than my Rambos IMO. Despite all the good press Premier equine have I wasn't impressed with the purchases we made and the customer service was applalling when we pointed out that the rugs should have stood up to more than a few weeks wear!

QR - Thank you all for your replies.

I have ordered the Smartex one and I think I will order a PE stable rug as a comparision.

Hi Benjamin,

I feel I may be too late but try this site for Bucas.

Bucas

Fit wise they take a little time to bed in. It is so very difficult to say until you try for yourself as all horses as different. My 16.1hh ex racer takes a bigger rug than my dads 16.3 7/8ths TB!!!

see what I mean!? But I do feel that generally they are a good fit.

Hope you like them.
