Billets every time, so much smarter for any bridle!
Years ago you would only see buckles on exercise bridles (when if you could, you had best tack and exercise tack) or on cheap dealer's tack cos they were quicker to change bits with and there was an unspoken rule that buckles were 'tacky' and second-rate, which I still agree with I'm afraid!
Have any of you ever had a billet hook pull out of the leather?
I have - mid gallop. Not a nice experience.
Buckles every time - they are not banned in racing for no reason!
I suspected as much and thought that they were much smarter myself for shows, where hopefully we won't be going at a full gallop, but in that I'm new to showing I wanted to check that I wasn't missing anything.
