If you were looking to buy a top end riding club horse, capable to pre nov standard what would your budget be? not a quirky horse just general straight forward sort.
Just for open level RC stuff I wouldnt pay more than £3500 personally. But it depends where you are in the country as English prices seem huge compared to our Scottish ones!
I always find the prices on here are really low. If I was looking to buy a top end riding club capable of pre-novice which was straight-forward and with a proven track record I would be thinking more like 8-10k
weve just bought one for less then 2k. so it depends on where you look. Our one will need a bit of schooling and doesnt have much of a record but he is more then capable. and will hopefully go further then RC level showing and working hunter.
To go straight out and compete at top RC level, then £4-6k - to go straight out and win at that level, then £5-8k. If you are prepared to put in the work and miss out a season whilst you are doing the groundwork, then £3-6k. It really depends on how much work you want to do, and being realistic about how good a rider you are.
10k for something thats capable of PN?! I think you're looking in the wrong places.
IMO a sensible RC type, pretty well schooled and capable of SJ 1m10 and eventing at 1m should be worth around £4000. If you wanted something capable of doing that with its eyes shut that needed absolutely no work at all and winning then maybe more like £5000.
well im in the middle of selling my horse which has evented up to PN and would be a fantastic RC?PC team horse etc for £7000 subject to vetting and had an awful lot of interest, and have been 100% open and honest about her capabilities etc
