Jollyes have discontinued the low-protein fish and rice brand that despite being utter mulch and cheap as chips, B was doing really well on, ARGH!!!!

NEXT?

What about Wainwrights? What's it like? Would Jollyes Lifestage be much different to the own brand stuff?

Thanks for any advice. Must be low-protein and fish based.

Gelert do a fish and rice but again it is 21% protein. The rep dropped by here last week trying to sell me a pallet load, it certainly was cheap.

Do Red Mills do a fish based one? At least they are on the same side of the Irish Sea as yourself. My Irish friends swear by their dog food.

Feed my dog Burns, it's cheaper off the internet (£38 a bag compared to £45 in store), the bags are 15kg and you feed less qunatity than other brands (I did a lot of research!). My boy's doing really well on it.

Hi guys, thanks for all your suggestions, went to Pets at Home, everything was either protein through the ceiling or price through the ceiling!
Gonna hit Jollyes tomorrow with a clearer head (I was only on the phone to them today) then hit smaller shops if that is unsuccessful.

I can't believe I am having to change him again!!!

Cheers Spud, he was on AG before so I will give my old distributor a call. He has the salmon and rice but it is 24% and dearer than the lamb and rice, which he used to be on.
Think it may be chickeny though.

I know this isn't fish based, but the protein is low, the price is good and a man at Coalisland supplies it! I get the original for £11 a bag with the discount he gives, the cr@p I have to clean up is minimal so my mutt gets a lot out of it.

I couldn't help by snigger at the info on the puppy feed.

Ideal for puppies being weaned and growing dogs, plus gestating or breast-feeding bitches

It's the breast feeding bit that tickled me. Most would say lactating bitches.

This is a tad over the 20% protein and not cheap but has sorted beastie's tum and skin after 2 years of trying everything (burns etc)...

She's on the "fusspot" brand which is Scottish Salmon and tattie - tis pricey but you really don't have to feed much.

I get mine from local independent supplier so price a wee bit better than online.

Good luck finding a food that suits - how annoying they've stopped your current one - not helpful at all!

Cheers everyone - well my panic is over, apparently they CAN order it in for me, but it just wasn't selling on the shop floor.
(I only found this out after almost bursting into tears in front of two very burly shop assistants, ha!)

So in the interim I picked Beta salmon and rice sensitive and have given it a good shake up with the food they had left and hopefull I will be sorted by Friday.

I did go to the supermarkets to try and work out a fresh fish and rice based diet but it would have worked out too expensive and fiddly for a week's worth of feeding two (I am working away a few days next week)

Flippin' dogs!
