Exciting. I bought mine ready built but from comparing what was out there, and seeing a friend's newer one recently, the things I thought were really good were an extra wide door at the back so you can get in/out with saddle etc and not bash yourself on the sides. And no breast bar given those concerns about mad horses getting stuck over them. And a separate wall where you can store your tack if it's in the horse area, mine gets covered in hay as it's just open to where the horses are.

And a nice colour too , ofc !

where are you? - i know fab guy near Gatwick. Be cautious and only go with recommendations as theres loads of "i can build a horsebox" people out there who use crap materials/designs and anything decent/safe will cost more. - No bargains interms of quality and safety

If you are down near London, Priory Stud at Tiptree in Essex both build boxes to spec and also do refurbishments. Ive just waiting for my second lorry from them, and although mine is a refurbished one, its had new roof and floor and ive been able to design the horse area and living exactly how I want it. There is another thread on here about them. Their customer service is superb.

I had mine built by Kevin Parker - highly recommended. We've had two lorries from him - a 7.5T, which we outgrew, and a 12T that was finished a few months ago. All built to spec and specifically designed around my big IDx.

Highly recommend Priory Stud. They are doing one for us at the moment and their customer service has been excellent. We have been to seethe lorry today before its sprayed and it's lovely, it's beyond our expectations and they have thought of everything.

PRB: phenomenally good. Sensible, well thought out and designed, on budget and best of all IT ALL WORKS!!! There's a chance that I may be staying in mine for Christmas (relatives...) and that doesn't overly disappoint me. Think that says it all!!! Best person to speak to there is Richard Bolton.

I had one built as was struggling to find one with steel bulkhead, wide door etc. Was very please with gc horseboxes in Leicestershire who did it for me (you can see it on their face book page). Make sure whoever you pick is happy to let you see some in build and isn't cagey about payloads and safety stuff! Good luck
