My horse is a good weight for her size. She's 15.1, an Arab and 500kg. Don't like her being too big so I think she's just about right. The problem I'm having at the moment is she has this belly because if the grass but not much covering on her back. I don't ride a lot, prob hack out twice a week and walk out in hand once or twice a week as well. lost my confidence in the school as she gets spooky and now we ar ein this vicious circle of her feeling my nerves, but that's a diff story. Anyway I was wondering what I can do to build up the top line on her back. I have been looking into the Pessoa as I heard that was good but wanted to know what other things I could do?

I need to build my boy's topline at the moment and the vet's advice is to lunge him over raised trotting poles, lunge him in a bungee and do lots of walking and trotting up and down hills :) Also making him work in an outline on hacks rather than just ambling along.

Raised trotting poles are great and I would definitely recommend using a pessoa - personally I prefer this to a bungee but that's just me.

Personally I'd do a lot of hillwork. I often lunge on a hill and it soon muscles the horse's back. The horse really needs to be worked daily to build up the muscle too.
I don't have one, but if i were to lunge with a "gadget" i'd go for a chambon providing i had enough control on the lunge. if not i'd use sidereins.
