Do you have to register and pay to give your equestrian buisness a name/domain and how much does it cost and who do you pay this money too.If for instance you want to be greenfields equestrian centre would that cost you more than greenfields Livery?!x:)
 
Yes you do have to pay, but its not a lot of money. Typically you pay for 1-2 years registration, then if you don't renew the domain becomes re-available to be sold. There are loads of sites that can help you, just google 'register a domain name' or something like that. You can then try out different choices and it will tell you if they are available (and sometimes suggest alternatives). There aren't differences in prices for different names, it all boils down to if they are available (although .com is sometimes more expensive than .co.uk

If you go ahead the name is centrally registered so its all taken care of for you. You will geta reminder when its due for renewal
 
Names is a good choice! We've hosted lots with them and their service is really good, plus the softalicious(sp?) downloads that you can get with it for free can be pretty fantastic too.
 
My business domain name - just cost me £12.50 for a year and they send a reminder,

Just a warning .......... If you register a name then please buy the other versions ie
.co.uk .com and .net as with my first choice of business name I only bought the .co.uk version and when one of my clients went to the website and put in .com by mistake ....well the site that appeared certainly made you blush ! I then had to change business name and buy all versions to stop anyone using my business name to promote porn !

After talking to a web designer this is common practice, people watch for newly registered names and quickly buy any versions not purchased to promote their business which is 99% of the time soft porn sites!
