My boys hinds came off in April and improved dramatically (see previous post) including bull nosing disappearing!

Recently though in past month or so he has gotten bull nosing back and I have no idea why? His diet is the same. Only thing I can think of is he's had a lot of stress lately going to horsepital for ab operation and moving yards? Can this cause changes in his feet. He has also since had his fronts removed.

Help?

It can be caused by back problems, as I found out with my horse with kissing spines. I would possibly get a vet or a good physio to check his back and his hockls.

What was the op?

He is having physio this weekend and has it regularly. He has been investigated for toe drag but he has always done that and the got better when his shoes were removed but now they are bull nosed again. He's had his hocks checked in flexion and he was sound and had really good flexion in them. He had a sinus flush so quite invasive!

OK, probably not back or hocks then :)

Thrush in the back of the central sulcus will do it too, or anything else that makes them stand camped under at the back.

Excess carbs are a culprit too, but if his diet hasn't changed I ruled that one out.

It is strange I don't know why they have suddenly reverted. He's still on pure feeds which he has been on since last year and micronised linseed. I have just order pro balance so will see if that helps!

Is there any possibility he is starting with cushings?

Has the enforced lack of exercise from being ill made him fat?

Both those might make him prone to weaker feet.

I very much doubt he is 8 yr old tb poor doer. Far from fat!

Not fat is good then :) Free testing is catching a lot of early onset cushings, so if you can get a free test done, I would just to rule it out.

Other than that ,it's a mystery to me but maybe a photo will help.
