My v well bred sec d (Thorneyside sire) is 5 1/2 and still bum high. I know they are slow to develop but im afraid she will never level out 🙈 Her withers will eventually catch up, won't they ? 🤞🙏

I can't speak from experience but I'm sure lots of people on here have had youngsters that carried on filling out until about seven, so I wouldn't completely panic yet. You might also find that with consistent correct work she'll muscle up better and that will bring her front end up - my older cob is bum high but it's actually largely postural. Might not be the case with your mare but all I mean is that even if she has completely finished growing, there may still be hope anyway!

first photo, sec D, is 12, 2nd sec C is 6…definitely staying bum high for my 2🤣

both have good breeding, lily however is a bit of an ugly duckling with all C breeding but kept growing to 14.2hh lol

@dottylottie you do know you could easily reregister the overheight C as a D if you wanted to?

Bum high in Ds is fairly common. My part-bred is but it certainly isn't an issue under saddle when he puts his rather spectacular bottom under himself, lifts the front end and is a powerful but very light and balanced ride.

I've been riding a friend's sec D X cob and she is 2 inches higher at the croup than the wither at 8yo. Unfortunately some horses are just built this way.

she’s not registered - i’m in touch with the breeder & could register her, but i don’t see the point in paying all that when she’s not “show quality” and she’ll never be put in foal!
