bump in saddle area

My grey gelding has just developed a little pinhead bump on his back in the saddle area.
Do you think it could be caused by the saddle not fitting? As he's had little work for the past month due to weather, maybe he's changed shape a bit? Or more likely a skin reaction? He does get the odd bump here and there.
Anyone experienced anything similar?

Could be the saddle but could also be a reaction to something, dirt in the hair follicle, a collagen lump or a heat bump. If there is only one and its small it is more likely to be a skin reaction. Keep numnah clean, dilute hibiscrub the lump and keep an eye on it.
