All set up to watch at home, wearing my 2019 Burghley polo shirt ?.




Just hoping that all horses and riders come back safely ?

*sigh* adverts? Really? We’ve paid £20 for this! I don’t want adverts. ??

I'm only going to be annoyed if they interrupt the competition coverage.

It hasn't actually started yet, and I'm not fussed if the sponsors get a look in tbh. I'd be surprised if they make much, if any, money from the TV service.

Yes it’ll be very annoying if they do it during the competition.

As for making money. 10,000 people provides them with £200,000. I’ll bet they got a few more than that. Although they’ll never tell us! I would imagine they’re making money. Otherwise they wouldn’t do it.

It's not a lot of money given the cameras, the drones, the drone operators, the licensing, the broadcasting, the commentators...

I'm not suggesting they do it at a loss, just that I'd be very surprised if this was a major money maker. Sponsorship is clearly key.

There was a bit at the beginning where she answered some questions that had been asked on social media. Stuff like what do you think of eventing, how is she doing, what's she going to do next. Not the most tactful but she was very graceful about it! Seemed very positive.

God I hate the falls. My nerves watching this are definitely worse after Badminton this year.

Not that I'd ever have the skill to ride one leg of any of these horses, but Billy Walk On would not give me the confidence to attempt that course even if I did. Just shows Pippa's skill.

Came home clear but 30 seconds over time. Couple of untidy moments but safe.

They got Harry Mutch's horse off the fence quickly, didn't see how they did it. He'll be sore.

C'est La Vie the american horse was never happy.
