Eventing Burghley Horse Trials to Host BE80 champs a la grassroots at Badminton

Amaaaaaaazing. What’s the qualification process and standard for these? I don’t have any aims myself, just interested and suspect a few people I know will aim for this. Will def go spectate.

ETA and how does this differ from badminton grass roots?
.

Oh how exciting! Sadly I think it may be a bit too late for my old boy (he is 22 next year) but something to think about for future horses.

Soounds awesome. I won;y be anywhere near the standard needed to qualify sadly!

AFAIK Badminton Grassroots is 90 and 100. You qualify at various qualifying events through the season. My friend failed to qualify on something mad like 24 DC! So the standard is bonkers.

I believe the qualification process is going to be similar to BE90 and BE100. Where if you finish in a set top % in a normal BE80 then you will qualify for a regional final from which a set % will qualify for the final. Grassroots at badminton is 90 and 100.

The competition for this is now going to bec9me crazy!

True SS, I can see a huge uptick in interest for these classes, which I’m sure if part of the plan! Bugger, might make ballotting more of an issue if I ever do attempt my Wobbleberry 80!

This year you had to win a BE80 class to qualify. It was well worth it, my youngster qualified and came 9th in the final, winning me a voucher up to £220 for a new airowear body protector. ( plus a nice plaque) They gave prizes up to 10th place, the first 3 got an airjacket. The winner also got a lovely trophy and a bottle of bubbly, which was sprayed over everyone in true formula one style. S o pleased they are going to keep this going.it will be something for me and my daughter to aim for:cool:

thank you, yes very proud. We lost her brother earlier in the year, it makes everything she does just that bit more special now.
