Has anyone else seen her Dressage Test on Burghley.tv?

What a shame she retired but how gracious she was to the crowd, it's totally changed my opinion of her.

Her horse didn't settle at all & when her reared up a few times during the reinback she retired. The crowd clapped her which set him off again so he was messing about a bit on the way out, some of the crowd were making 'sshhh' noises and after a second bout of clapping and another load of 'sshhhing' the crowd were silent so once he settled enough for her to walk him out she said thank you to the crowd.

I think in her situation I'd be so p***ed off I probably wouldn't think to thank the crowd for being quiet! I've always thought she may be a bit snooty but she seemed really lovely here.

I am a big fan of Bettina Hoy. She has always acted with grace in the face of considerable difficulties. Very sorry to hear about her test as she was having quite a good run.

Such a shame because she's a lovely dressage rider. Good to see her reassuring the horse and giving him a pat halfway through the test.

He just seemed so unsettled from the start, I thought she handled it really well. Such a shame, what a beautiful horse.

I watched her test a few minutes ago, he certainly looked as if he was about to boil over right from the start. Very sympathetic ride I thought. Does anyone know why Emily Galbraith was eliminated?

Wow, wouldn't fancy sitting on that horse. Bet it would go like a missile round the XC... Such a shame for Bettina, I watched her dressage a couple of weeks ago at Blair and she rode so beautifully (and I hate dressage!). Very very nice of her to have thanked the crowd. Quite why on earth some people decided to clap for a second time after seeing the first reaction though I'm unsure...

I do feel for Bettina. She rides so beautifully, and is a nice person.. shame the horse was thinking too hard about XC! Very hot horse! Hope she can come back again soon with him, and be slightly less 'boiled over', as I'm sure he could do a stunning test.

I was watching today and he reared several times when she brought him into the arena before they'd even started their test . I think the crowd were well meaning and wanted to applaud her for the graciousness with which she handled the situation but yes a little more thought wouldn't have gone amiss.

She's such a tactful rider, I feel so sorry for her. The horse is lovely but boy does it look like a handful! A good example of why hard hats should always be worn for dressage.
