Going Friday and Saturday, but not Thursday or Sunday.
Seems odd to have the Stallion parade on Thursday when the breeders will be more likely to be there on Friday when the young horse classes are on... I think that having the stallion parade on Thursday is demoting it to the least attended day which is sad.
I have to agree with the others that it seems very short sighted to have it the day before the BYEH. That would have had a much wider audience and appeal I think for the people which probably would have been most interested. Perhaps there's a chance it could be changed for the future?
We start according to our literature at 12.00. Feel free to come and say hello afterwards (Weston Justice) Could be entertaining though we only got him back on Friday.
I do agree Friday during the BYEH lunch break would be a lot more user friendly.

Agree, would have been nice but they did offer the space without being asked in order to promote British Breeding (which was very nice of them) but could not offer any such time on the Friday or Saturday.
Would you rather there have been no parade at all or one that at least sis get the real cognicenti there?

No the parade starts at 12.30. The time of 12 noon is when you will be collected from the exercise area by the lorry park for a briefing and guided down to the main arena by the steward. Your group is actually due in the arena at 12.40, wouldnt want you to get lost/rushed
Damn, wish I could go, as Sempers Spirit will be there and love to see him in the flesh again (last saw him as a 3yo), but I am working, so no chance to nipping over even if I wanted to. In fact there are a couple of stallions I haven't seen in the flesh I would like to have ahd a nose at.
Hope you all enjoy it and looking forward to a report!
Unfortunately those of us with full time jobs as well as full time studs can't afford to take lots of days off - especially when you're paid by the day!
Thursday is not a day where many people will attend, and "the real cognicenti" as you put it will probably attend Friday and/or Saturday and/or Sunday. Thursday is probably the least supported day of the event. What was the reason they couldn't do Friday lunchtime? Surely whatever was scheduled for then could have been moved to another slot with some forward planning?
Obviously it's better to have a stallion parade on Thursday than no stallion parade at all, but unfortunately by being on Thursday I was just making the observation that's it's a bit of a missed opportunity from the perspective of maximising the exposure.
Ooh - wish I could go as would love to see Sempers Spirit in the flesh....am laid up on crutches tho at the moment and so poor RufusBlueMoon not able to go to Burghley as she is pony sitting for me whilst I am broken...
We have a fabulous Weston Justice yearling but I have never actually seen him move in the flesh. He had a sore foot when we went over so only saw him on video. Our baby has beautiful paces though which he didn't get from his mum!
It will be good to see Up With The Lark too - I remeber being really impressed with him as a 5 year old in the BYEH.
No plans to breed another foal for a few years (all being well with my mares) - interesting to see what my options are though.
