I'm joining in with having to be patient, it is not one of my many virtues! lol. While i was waiting I decided to write a complaint letter to the BBC to voice my upset at the lack of coverage.
To Whom it May Concern;
I am appalled at the lack of coverage of this years Burghley 3 day event. I understand if scheduling requires it only be available on the red button. Although, I can not say as I understand the importance of the black and white film that was broadcast on BBC2 this afternoon. Even worse the equestrian world has be shunned yet you have managed to fit 4 1/2 hours of darts in to the schedule!
We are lucky enough to hold 2 world class 4 star eventing competitions during each the year. Badminton in fact brings in more spectators on the cross country day than any other sporting event in the country! Sadly it is not possible for everyone to go and watch the event and as such we rely on TV coverage. So to cut 4 days worth of competition into the minuscule slot that has been allocated on Sunday is absurd.
The equestrian community has been forced to rely on an online commentary generously provided by Horse and Hound Online, they are doing a fantastic job however, they are unable to transmit any pictures. In an effort to provide for viewers where the BBC has clearly failed a Burghley TV website has been set up, sadly for the majority of us the website has malfunctioned due to the sheer numbers attempting to watch.
I severely hope the BBC shows more consideration to its viewers when organising the coverage for Burghley and Badminton next year.
