Please could someone tell me exactly how to video it? I stupidly entered some dressage tomorrow and even more stupidly, despite asking for early times, am riding at 12.15 and 13.00

. I'll have to leave just after 10 so I can set the video as I leave, and I should be home just after 3 so I'll catch the last few.

Preferably in words of fewer than 2 syllables could someone explain how you video the BBCi channels?

Ditto here.

But I wonder if you can watch it back on BBCiPlayer?

I looked through the Sky listings last night and couldnt see any Burghley coverage - so is it only on Interactive?

I think you'd probably have to buy some new kit. We've got a thing called a personal video recorder (PVR) which is a freeview receiver with a hard disc and I can record the i channels. It's all to do with digital and analogue receivers (or something like that)

Yes, I've managed to tape off BBCi, got all the show jumping from the olympics. But think you have to be in front of the machine to set it up, get sky on then choose the one you want, and then leave it running. Have a practice tonight to make sure you have the correct channel.

Can you video from sky already? As far as I can remember you switch on tv and make sure sky menu is on the tv screen, then turn video on and change video channels until its on the one that is linked to sky. Then with sky remote choose bbc, then press the interactive button and select the right option, then press Record button.

As long as you can normally video a sky channel, shouldn't be a problem. The hardest bit is getting the right channel on your video, mine is something like AVF1 (don't quote me on that) but if you can practice tonight videoing anything off a sky menu, you should be fine. But you can't set it up remotely to video the interactive, so you will have to leave until the last minute to get as much as possible. I think!

Hope that helps.

I don't have sky, just digital but I have a feeling I've done it before - just can't remember how. I can be in front of it to start it recording no probs as I leave at about 10.15ish and it should be on by then.

Seriously considering not doing dressage (weather appalling!) and spending the day on the sofa with a bottle of wine but that would be naughty, I'd lose my entry fees (have a hardbitten Yorkshire attitude to losing money!

) and we really need the dressage practice so I'll just have to have a good dress-rehearsal with the video tonight

I think you put your tv onto the programme you want, press red button & select etc. Then check that is the channel playing thru your vcr by changing channels on the vcr directly and press record. Have a practice before. It def. does work.
