Cold calling, I get cold called telephoning all the time, overcharged, yep, everytime I buy something.

I thought this was how all business worked, as much out of customers for as little as possible and a lot of the time inferior, isn't this how the uk works ?
How many bought horses or horse gear not as described or fit for purpose ? prison for them was it ?
I see ofthingygemwhatever is pretending to look into energy companies profits, again, I wonder how many will be imprisoned for the millions conned out of "all" of us.

I give you an example, I know of three 8.5Kw showers, they are all the same shower inside, all made by the same maker, just different covers and from different outlets, £70.00 advertised on makers website but you have to buy from diy outlet if you can find one, £148.00 diy outlet, £89.00 other diy/trade outlet with outlets own name on and makers gaurantee not outlets, THERE ALL THE SAME UNIT INSIDE, why such a price difference.

I am not defending the individuals concerned, but I just wonder who decides and when and who to go after and prosecute, it all seems a bit "selective".

Just been watching bbc news and thought the same! Over charging seems to be the norm. If some ofgen or what ever watchdog thing notices, then they just seem to say, 'ohh, we'd rather you didn't if you would be ever so kind. Oh you like using £50s for loo roll? Oh, do go on robbing the masses then, don't mind us, terribly sorry for bothering you!'.
Hate it!!!

just been watching on the news about the supermarkets charging 2 for £3.00 when just one is £1.00 !! i see this all the time . i have bought it to workers attention before but they just look at me blankley ! i give up ! However i dont think that the masses from other countries are going to put up with all this crap like we all do they are far sharper ! as for the horse well the username says it all !!

I know what you mean, my local supermarket often has special offers that don't seem to be coded into the tills (amazing how they seem to forget lol)

Obviously all companies are there to make a profit and, in my eyes, no problem with that, but its the blatent overcharging that gets me. Why is a bucket sold in an equestrian store so much more than the same bucket sold in a hardware store for example?

At some stage though usually some company or other decides to break the mould and are winners because of it. Take printers for example, I am always horrified at the insane cost of the cartridger (often almost as much as the printer!). Finally Kodak have launched a range with reasonably priced cartridges and I bet they are absolutely cleaning up right now. Bet the others get more realistic soon! Only trouble is it takes someone with a big name to do it, if a small unknown company had launched a range I bet the consumer would have thought it was some way inferior!

just to say i have used cartridges from the pound shop ! when they have them and they are brilliant . they sell out quick though :D
