Butch girls

Following on from Stimpy's post of her very gorgeous pretty boy, I thought I'd do a similar one for mares that get mistaken for geldings.
Here's my butch girl, not particularly looking her best. She's even been mistaken for a fella in a show ring, despite the judge even looking at her bits to check

Yay! We're not the only ones, but your mare is still very gorgeous!

Do you think it's something to do with all the white on their faces, making them masculine??? Or the fact they won't pose for the camera??

I keep trying to persuade my mum to hog Chloe, but she refuses as she says she's ugly enough with her mane and forelock intact!

I think your Mare is lovely. Same sort of build as Dolly. Are they clipped legs as well?

Chloe isn't ugly! As someone once said about Doll, she is a handsome mare. I think it was meant in a complimentary way. Someone else said that if she was human, she would be like a jolly farmers wife with plump red cheeks.

Don't hog her. Thought about it with Doll, but plaited her all up to get and idea what it would like and didn't like it.

They are clipped legs (well scissored as she refuses to let us near them with clippers, even sedated) - my instructor calls them Nora Batty legs as they frequently look wrinkled!

I like the phrase 'handsome' - I'm going to use that next time she gets abuse! And the farmers wife - it describes Chloe quite well, but she would be grumpy rather than jolly!

She came to us hogged, and looked ok, but not great - but she's got such a good neck on her that it would look a lot better now. I don't think I could actually carry through with it though. I think they need their manes for fly protection.

She sounds so much like Doll. Used to have to get her sedated to clip legs, but after persevering for 2 years, she will let me and sharer do them, but nobody else.

I hog my other one, but have to admit to leaving his forelock on.

Yes that's the one, poor dab, she'll be remembered not for her exploits but for her bald bum.

Masculine edge?! I'll say so. She doesn't have a feminine bone in her chunky little body, hope she changes a bit when she goes to the stallion this summer!

when my mare when forward for grading they put a comment on her result sheet that said 'lacks feminity'!!!! I think they were trying to say she looked like a gelding!
