Does anyone know of an effective bute supplement, either liquid or powder that I can give my horse that is dressage legal, not expensive (bearing in mind he will need quite a bit being 17hh and approx 600kg) and readily available to buy? He has bone spavin which other treatment has not remedied.

Thanks guys.

I have had a look and that is £24.95 for 500ml. Any idea what the feeding rate is please for a 600KG horse per day so I know how long a bottle will last me?

thanks.

D and H do straight devils claw which is about £15 a tub. I think after a loading dose you can drop the amount down. A 1kg tub lasts me about 5 weeks, with 2 horses on it - scoop each daily.

Bute Free from Gold Label I believe is dressage legal. It costs £12.99 per litre bottle and a 700Kg horse would need 25ml per day.
It also contains Yucca and MSM and is extremely effective.

most bute substitutes (devils claw) are more toxic to the liver than proper bute or danelon. thought the FEI has legalised bute within competition or have they reversed it? Your vet is your best advisory in this instance. phone him and chuck it around and see what he advises!!!

I use the equine america buteless and have a 17.2 horse and give the recommended does of 15ml so a 946ml bottle lasts a while and when it costs £16 even better - especially now bute prices are so high!
