Asked for a new prescription during vet visit and it was emailed to me this morning, only it's for 90 sachets. I've queried it and waiting to hear back, but is this a thing, now, to maybe force clients to buy from the practice?? I can't find any online shop which sells in less than 100 apart from individual sachets!

If it is a wheeze by the practice then it’s a pretty weird one - can you ask them to reissue it for 100, assuming it is going to be a permanent requirement?

That seems odd! They are legally allowed to prescribe 6 months worth at a time, so unless you are only using a small amount, the practice are wrong. I'd phone and ask for the prescription to be reissued.

And if you order online you can lodge the prescription with them, you dont have to buy it all if you dont need it, but have up to 6 months to take it
Ill try and remember which online shop I used, but I ordered 50 initially out of the 90

They've come back to me. Seems they've gone by their standard 6 month prescription. She's on 1/2 a day at the moment, but vet did agree she could increase this winter if needed, especially for bad days (mud etc), so it would be well short if I did that even for a few days. They've agreed to reissue for 100, so it's just a case of them not really thinking about it!
