Islay aged 13 3/4 on the left, Amy aged approx 8 on the right :) I never understand why rescue organisations have trouble re-homing black greyhounds, they are gorgeous :)

They are beautiful :-)

I was saying at dog training only the other day that I can't understand black dogs being hard to rehome as I love black dogs
Same goes for white dogs. Beautiful but overlooked :-(

My OH sunk to a new level of stupidity a while ago, we were considering getting another hound, because the dog/s are off lead down the field he reckoned we shouldn't look at getting a black one because

I wouldn't be able to see it, FFS the grass is green

:D :D I must admit many years ago when I only had 2 of them - one black, one white - they buggered off across two fields into the woods after bunnies at dusk. I couldn't see the black one (who was Islay when much younger!) at all, I could only see Flick in the gathering gloom :)

I can also testify that losing a black dog in the dark is a PITA but it is also very funny when people can't understand where the heavy breathing is coming from ;)

I had to put a bell on Amy because she kept traumatising other dog walkers in the dark :D :D :D Floofy must be even better at it :D

I have a pair of black and tan terriers and can confirm that if they Foxtrot Oscar after something small and furry on an evening walk, all I can see are the tan patches on their bums disappearing across the field.

Black greys are beautiful!! We went with every intention of bringing a black one home but no black ones suitable. We were offered Lucky (brindle) as a foster until something more suitable came in. She never went back!
