Buttercups in field

Does anyone have any experience with spraying a field to get rid of buttercups in a horses field?
I am looking at the ‘envy’ pesticide if anyone has any experience with that.
Our fields are full of them and they are starting to irritate my boys nose. I know I am a bit late in spraying as I read you have to do it before they flower but do you think I would be able to spray this month, well next as July is tomorrow then spray again next year before they flower?

I am on a livery yard so it’s the farmer (yard owner) that tops and he done then a few weeks ago so not likely to do them again until end of August probably. They still seemed to grow back fairly fast after topping.
I should add even tho we are a livery yard he is ok for us to spray fields
 
I sprayed with envy 3 weeks ago, I spot sprayed and it's killed the ones I sprayed (obv missed some).

Going to spray other half field ASAP, it's rainfast in 2 hrs and u can put horses back on after a week. Pretty sure can spray as long as weeds growing

I have sprayed the field and it looks great however the stems of the buttercups are still there, all be it there is no flower and it looks more srivvled up. Can the horses go back on when it is like this or do I need to pick the stems. I know they avoid them normally due to the taste but not sure if being dead makes them palatable?
 
I think envy just says to leave animals off for 7 days. Mine still has the remnants of sprayed buttercups but horses don't touch them and they have been back on it weeks.
