Bit of an odd question.. Posts on covering outdoor arenas with steel barns have got me thinking! Does anyone know any companies that buy steel barns? We are looking at a property with 2 relatively large steel barns on site and wondering how much they're worth? Sadly, neither is big enough for an indoor but maybe I can sell 2 and part fund 1 big one!

We wouldn't be able to take them apart ourselves so I guess the dismantling cost may cancel out any profit.. Does anyone have any contacts? Thanks!

They come up quite often on eBay where they are being sold by a company who will dismantle and move that have been asked by the owner to arrange the sale so you may get some contacts that way

Thanks jrp204.

Jemima*askin, we are looking at a farm to buy in mid suffolk, near Eye. Bit of a trek for you?! Happy to give you a shout if we go ahead with a purchase though!

Argh, tell me about it. I used to do the trek most days. Good luck with the purchase, if it goes ahead do give me a call.

Thanks Dry Rot, very helpful. No idea how much they're worth though!

"For Sale by Tender -- sealed offers by --/--/2014. The sellers do not undertake to accept the highest or any offer. The structure must be removed within x months of the sale date. For a full list of terms and conditions, please apply to the vendors in writing".

Do a Google on "Conditions sale by tender" for a few ideas. It might be worth phoning your local livestock auctioneers just to see what they say. Also your local machinery ring. Also Ebay as others have suggested. Personally, I'd advertise as widely as possible on the above lines as a lot of farmers are not computer literate.
