*huge sigh* need a rant...
As many of you will know I went through the mill trying to sell my 3yr old New Forest who finally went to a wonderful new home after many a saga(see my other threads if you bored!) on dec10th. I had reluctantly decided due to my health that I would sell both my 3yr olds..one a sports horse by Brief Encounter that i bred, the other his buddy a New Forest. Obv the Newf would be easier(pfff!) due to breed & price & level of training, but I lightly advertised(VERY sadly) my other boy too.. had a girl text me today asking if he was still for sale so I replied yes, please call after 2 and gave my other number as was 02 so would be free for me/her to discuss. I had hosp appointment hence asking her to call 4 hours later....within half an hour I had no less than 9 texts from her and when I didn't reply she kept bombarding me with varying amounts of question marks & trying to force me to answer. She said she was a dressage & event rider who breaks horses for others tho was limited on budget but would offer a great home(dealer!!!!)Sorry am getting cynical in my old age....been 29 a four times now you see! Anyway I replied with his price as advised by stallion owner as 4.5k but was more than prepared to negotiate to the right home. baring in mind she didn't call and I didn't answer texts till 2....she nearly blew my head off for his price & was soooo rude...yes I understand the market, but as I delivered him when he was born(camera in one hand foal in other arm!) I would be prepared to keep him as its my health that is wasting him, not him being unsuitable etc AND he is only three(jul 08) so really no he should not have been out eventing by now!!!!!! anyway I would consider putting some money by when my house sells to get him professionally started & competed/ridden etc hopefully started before summer so he can get out & learn...if when he's 6 he's a super star & a ride that I could risk...then yes I'd ride him, I just can't risk more now than groundwork...its hard enough trying to sell & letting him go let alone having numpties by the dozen!if cranky texter is reading this, please consider me now suitably blown to bits& congratulations for knowing everything about my horse without asking my ad was rather the opposite of this & very concice!!Merry Christmas!.....grrrrrr!!!;-)x
