One of my liveries is selling her hopelessly outgrown pony. It is a lovely 14'1 connie mare. She is a totally genuine pony, lovely to do, easy to look after a snaffle mouthed horse in every discipline. She is only 6 but has already got £100 BSJA, is jumping double clears at Newcomers, and has has done two BE intros with ease this summer. She is truly lovely. She is for sale at £7500 which is in my opinion right for her and she has had loads of interest BUT...... what on earth are buyers after
she has had people come and see her with children who are jumping unaffiliated at 2ft and are clearly very novice riders and scared but being pushed by mummy
she has had people say she is too young - she is only 6 and they really want something older - so why come and see a 6 year old.
she is too small - well she is a genuine 14'1 so look for something bigger
her withers are too high - god knows where that one came from as she has very low withers
she spooked at a patch on the ground, and was condemned as as seriously spooky mare
livery was accused of lying about her being snaffle mouthed because she was in a strong bit - a hanging cheek french link snaffle
She could be lame in a year ( small splint not near any joint and fully formed) - well yes and you could be dead tomorrow
wolf teeth can be a real problem - well she had them out 2 years ago so no problem then - wrong!
And the best - the 6ft expert - who must have weighed about 15 stone who wanted to jump her. A little 14'1 slight pony.
She has been asked to travel it 3 hours for someone to try it out in their own arena - yet we have an all weather arena - a grass gallop and a large jumping field with show jumps and XC fences so trial facilities are great.
Come on - the pony is genuine - the seller is totally up front and honest about everything and bends over backwards to help potential buyers she sends photos, videos of all disciplines. She will answer any questions and is happy for people to try her at all disciplines. There must be some normal buyers out there.
