Buying 4 year old

Looking at horses for sale and it seems that there are a lot of 4 year olds around and not a lot else
Instructor is feels 4 is to young worth looking at or hold out for older

Your instructor knows you far better than a bunch of strangers on an Internet forum. If they don’t advise getting a 4yr old then I wouldn’t get a 4yr old.

A 4 year old is still extremely young and needs education and time to grow, it’s not something you can just hop on and go. It’s hard work
Maybe your instructor knows just what you need.

If you don’t have the experience to bring on a young horse, then I really wouldn’t recommend it. Listen to your instructor.

Yeah no, just wait for the right one to turn up, listen to your instructor.

It’ll take a long time to get the horse you want either way, but you’ll get there with fewer injuries if you wait for the right one instead of buying a 4yo.
