I am looking at buying an old (small budget) 3.5 horsebox. I have 2 to look at, one is a conversion and one is a Fiat that was built as a horsebox. Does being originally built as a horsebox rather than a conversion have any advantages? or all much of the same?

The main advantage is that the divider (bulkhead ) between the cab and horse area will be stronger in the one built as a horse box very often.

Renault master etc based boxes are lovely but prob not in budget, also front wheel drive and low slung so not so good for sloppy wet grass parking or potholes, so it depends on your location whether they are ideal, they are best on Tarmac.
