Would stringhalt put you off buying a horse if she was perfect in every other way?We are currently looking at a showjumper with stringhalt, she is perfect in all ways other than her condition, she is a 9 year old 17.3 and it seems to be very mild. We have the facilities to keep her living out most of the time and don't have any interest in dressage or showing with her. It doesn't seem to affect her at all when jumping or after a good warm up on the flat but is still noticeable
Would this still prevent you from buying her/ does anybody have experience of stringhalt in a large horse?

Thanks

Wouldn't put me off, but probably would want the price to reflect the condition.

I've heard high oil and high fibre diets can help.

Not if she was the right price.

I know someone with a horse with stringhalt, who showjumps, and you wouldn't know he had it once he starts cantering.

As others have said it wouldn't bother me if the price was right. My old horse had stringhalt and it didn't cause any major issues.

Nope not at all! My horse has a stringhalt but only noticeable in walk if he's not walking properly. Get 8's for walk in dressage x

Depends if you want to sell on at any time. It would def put me off buying as why would you purposefully buy something with any issue if there are others for sale without the issue?

I hunted with someone on one for years. Isn't there an international showjumper with it?
