Buying a mare who has had several foals

Just wanted opinions on this or anyone bought a mare who had been brought back to ridden work after having several foals. Horse is 10 years old and working well under saddle. Wondering how muscle and back is affected and can they go on to have a successful career in dressage. Thanks

Providing you spend a long time fittening up (and not in the school) and do the job properly I don't see a problem.
You must remember she will have been using her body differently for some time so it needs very slow and steady to get her fit. Treat her as you would a hunter that's had all summer off, a broken down horse or an endurance horse. The longer you can walk over any terrain to adapt her body and limbs, so much the better and stay out of the school for at least three months..
