Buying a pointer from a training yard

Following on from my previous post, I am looking to by an ex-racer to do RoR etc with.
I used to ride for a trainer, who (as most trainers do) has most of his PTP horses for sale.

I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much I'd have to pay?

(obviously it depends on performance and whatnot) but I'm not looking a top PTP horse. Just something nicely put together, no older than 5.

Any ideas guys?

I know, hence why I'm coming up short atm!

Why a pointer in particular? Most 5 year old p2p'ers will be fit and qualified by now so probably not all that cheap! Try the classified section on 'Jumping for fun' website, quite a few horses on there.
