hi folks

i'm hopefully going to be getting a new puppy soon and was just wondering what i should be asking the breeder when i go to see the pups...my old dog who i just had PTS (

) made it to 14 so its a long time since i had to go through the puppy buying process!!
the breeder that has whippets for sale near me says they are KC reg- what do i need to check apart from their KC certificates? also, are there any bloodlines in whippets that i should be aware of (good or bad?!)
many thanks!

Sorry to hear about your old dog.
I don't know anything about Whippet bloodlines, but you can find some general bred-info about temperament, health and such things on http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/whippet.htm

Have you read what your KC recommends that you ask the breeder? (towards the bottom of the page "You should ask the breeder for information on the following:") http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/2101

When you go to see the puppies keep your head calm,

if possible "desensitize" yourself by looking at cute puppy-pictures before the visit.
Ask the breeder about the puppies personalities and if he/she has any advice regarding the choice. Put that together with what you see and then choose pup.

Good luck.

Really sorry about your dog.The breeder should also ask you alot of questions too.Ask question like, how often do you breed?how long had you had whippets?Do you show?why do you breed? Are they eating ok,are the wormed regular? Are the bred in the home or outside? Can you see the sire? The temperments? and the list can go on lol.
Don't be afraid to ask about the pedigree as there been falsh pedigrees being used at the moment.
