Hi All

I bought my last horse 16 years ago and I'm preparing to buy a yearling to bring on (as I did last time).

I've been looking at Hanoverian's and have been to a couple of studs to view their youngsters.

I know this is probably a daft question, but do you normally pay the asking price? Or, is it like buying a car, where you always offer a lower price? Then, if so, now much lower do you offer?

Also, does anybody know much about the Stallion Elroon?

It is not unusual to make an offer. At the moment horses are harder to sell so an offer is certainly worth a try. I have come across Elroon as a sire but have not seen any of his offspring.

I am sure like with buying any horse there is a little negotiating room on the price of a youngster. You should post in the breeding forum to find out more about Elroon.

He's a nice stallion from a good sire line, not one I would use personally but I know friends who have used him and have been pleased with their foals
