Buying - any recommended competition yards?

I'm looking to buy something decent to event on (just sold my main event horse) and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for yards/riders who sell? As I'm based 'way up north' then I feel if I had a few horses to look at in an area it might be more beneficial rather than travelling to the other end of the country to discover a horse is not as advertised (why does this keep happening?!).

Distant not an object if there's a slim chance of finding a sutiable horse.

go to the smiths in northern ireland - they event and bring on and sell horses. trevor smith rode at badminton last year and his brother steven who also works on yard is on europeans team. they have some really nice horses at the mo!

Try Mark and Tanya Kyle in Leicestershire (see http://www.queenholme.com ) They are really decent people to buy from, Mark is an excellent horseman and I would give him anything to ride and have or can get some very nice horses.

I will always recommed the kyles www.queenholme.com brought a horse from them last year.......they will also souce a horse for you from ireland.
