Buying jumps...

Is there a way to do this without spending thousands of pounds?! I have been casting about and they're just insanely expensive. Plastic ones are really dear but even wooden ones made by someone else are hardly cheap.

Had a look on fleabay and preloved but nothing in my area

Do you not know anyone 'handy' who could make some - simple stands/wings and fillers are not tricky! I usually do this and then paint them myself

OH could make them but he's always busy and is quite grumpy about being forced to do horsey jobs in winter

I'll try asking again nicely and see what happens. He'll say yes and then be 'busy' (playing x-box and watching footy) for six weeks and I'll be no further forward. He has other uses though so I'll forgive him!

Only two people buy me Christmas presents. My mother and the OH. And as I'm a grown up (boo) my mum doesn't really buy me very much either! I reckon I could buy one poly wing if that's what I asked for

Also, I think my mother has already got me something. No idea what. In fact I dread to think!

Not as nice but you can get free tyres from tyre places, they can then be stacked up to different heights. (sorry if you already knew this!)
I get poles from the local sawmill and collect them with the trailer, paint myself with gloss and masking tape for the stripes.
Worked out this method was fine for practicing at home and we then hire the local course for £10 an hour in the summer. Even if we went every week it would be cheaper than buying a whole set of fences.

I have a set of 5 pony jumps which are around 1m high that i got new off ebay for £90. I think they still make them i will try and find out what seller they were from. Depending on hight you need, pony jumps are cheaper but they tend to be narrower but in my school it works well.

OH has conceded and will make me some like this as apparently that won't take too long but I have to paint them myself. And the poles. Fortunately there are loads of cups at the yard, just no wings or poles!

We made our own...
These are wooden ones

Or we made these which are wooden based with some scrap fencing we had, made into a T shape with a piece sticking upwards into an underground drainage pipe with holes drilled to fir jump 4 joy cups

you can get those plastic sleeves for poles, and you can get ones that look like fillers too -
