As title really.

I am currently selling my lorry, been advertised for at least 3 weeks or more (cant remember!) Anyway, advertised on 2 sites, over 5000 views on one and not a single phone call. Not even one. I have to admit i am quite surprised by this. A couple of people have said to me "oo it is the wrong time of year to sell" but is it really? Surely if you are looking at buying a lorry the time of year is insignificant. I myself am currently looking for horse number 2, i am not putting it off til spring so surely someone must be looking for a lorry.

Thoughts appreciated!

I do think it is a bit seasonal as some people will think if they buy now it will be stood most of the winter but I think a lot of it is down to price as a bargain will sell any time of the year.
I tried to sell a professional conversion that had been used a handful of times in October and got no interest at all but I readvertised the following April and reduced the price by £2k :( and it sold 2 days later and could have sold it again and again. Whether the price made it much more competitive or the time of the year was better I dont know.

Thats what i thought, a bargain is good any time. and it is a bargain, only £2500 ono! and its plated til Sept 2012! I am only selling as i am down grading to a trailer but cant buy trailer till lorry gone. :(

Have been trying to sell mine for over two months now, have advertised everywhere including here, only two phone calls, neither suitable
It's a cracking lorry with a new plate just going to waste :(

Would it be worth putting it on Ebay? Maybe people think its too cheap  It certainly does sound a bargain. Good luck with it, I hope you sell soon.

I suppose it is sort of seasonal but if you think about it hunting people would be looking now - eventers beginning of next year - SJers anytime really so I think you should still stand a chance :)

maybe slighty better in the spring , however I think lack of spending power is the main problem !!! so yours needs to be cheaper and better advertised to sell it seems to be a buyers market until you get to the high end £40k upwards then money seems no problem !!!

I looked for mine the early part of this year. I suppose it's a bit difficult for people to come and view weekdays when its dark and what I found was if I waited till the weekend that it'd be gone.

I was speaking to a horsebox manufacturer recently and he confirmed it is seasonal. Between Oct and Jan they are generally sitting around doing nothing. Rest of the year they are flat out. so now is not a good time to be selling. :(

Have tried that. Still no joy! Thanks for your opinions. People are looking at the ad, had thousands of views but not one single phone call. I suppose the problem with seeing how many views you have had is that it doesn't tell you the number who are actually looking at buying or just browsing on their lunch break.

Hopefully someone will call me!

I bought a bargain of a lorry in May/June time and sold it a couple of months later for more money as current horse was a no go in terms of loading. Darn boy is now happily hopping up onto a friends lorry and so we are looking to buy again. THERE IS NOTHING!!! Absolutely nothing in budget (around £1500) So I am currently LIVID that we sold the last one because it will now have to wait until the spring to get another cheapie it seems!
