Im in the process of buying a new horse which does not come with tack. Can anyone recommend a few decent brands i havent got thousands to spend but quality is very important ! if anyone had any suggestion that would be great.
Thanks

It really is down to personal preferance.......

I like Kieffer Bridles (Leatherwork) - good quality leather and not too pricey
I have a Wintec synthetic pro series dressage saddle and a Kent & Masters GP saddle......
I like Premiere Equine rugs, also Horseware Amigo rugs...... good quality at affordable prices.....

Congrats on the new horse! I can empathise on having to buy the etc as we seem to have bought two new horses in the past few weeks- oops!

Bridlewise I love Kate Negus, Elevator or Albion. I managed to buy a hardly used Albion KB (comfort) bridle off EBay for considerably less than full price, the same with a lovely Kate Negus bridle also.

Saddle wise, of course depends on what suits your horse, personal faves are Ideal and Albion - again always deals to be had on EBay.

Rugwise - FAL or Mark Todd is the horse has got a good front end on it or Amigo if a lighter build!

Im a wintec fan, but get a saddler out first. If you have your own box or are bring him in a borrowed box i can suggest you take him to the tack shop on the way home, that way you can get help tacking him out.

I've tried various rugs over the years but now mainly buy Weatherbeeta. They are cut well, fit well, are well made & last. If you shop around & buy 'out of season' you should get them at reasonable prices. As for leatherwork I believe it's far better to buy a used quality bridle than a lesser quality new bridle & these are always available on ebay etc. You will eventually find that certain makes sem to fit your horse better than others so you can be guided by that. To keep costs down make a list with 2 columns, one is what you really want & the other is what you really need. Buy from the what you need list first. ;)

Good luck

I would get the saddle first because that could need the most spent on it to get what you want to suit you and the horse. I have done this and bought a cheap but English leather bridle from eBay for the moment. My pony is needing a saddle costing nearly double what she cost and taken 2 months (and counting) to get :D

I agree that buying second hand leather work is better than spending the same on inferior quality new.
I was in the same position as you a few weeks ago and now have an almost fully kitted out horse. Most items came off Ebay. With the saddle I borrowed a few saddles from people off the yard to try on him. My saddler came and assessed them and we found the size he needed and brands that suited him best. I them kept an eye out on Ebay and got what I was looking for within a week or so. I have a Jeffires Hawk event saddle which is lovely.
