Has anyone on here bought an Andalucian or Lustiano from abroad and imported it? Or is my best bet to look for one thats already in Britian?

Am thinking about actually going ahead and buying one - been wanting one for years and wondering what the best way is and peoples experiences if any...

Cheers!

I think weezy and Piaffe have imported horses. They might be your best bet for info!.

All the spanish horses at the yard/RS have been imported

Can give you the website link to who they bought from if you would like it

OK, my view is you should look at what is here first, then you can test drive it properly. I cannot tell from your post whether you have ridden Spanish horses before, so it would be a good idea to do so (if you haven't) to get a feel for them. Also what do you want to do with your horse?

Yes there are many companies that will import for you, but be aware, you could well be ripped off as if they hve an all singing, all dancing website that targets Brits, you can pretty muh be assured that a few K has been added to the cost.

I would call/visit North Farm Andalucians (based in Wilts) - they deal in Spanish horses and you will not be ripped off.
Good luck!

I personally would buy abroad. Spanish horses here seem to be rather pricey! Plus, there's more selection abroad as there's not many studs in the UK who do them (compared to their country).

Just be bloody careful who you choose to import them with! My boy was transported by a massive lorry. He stayed on it the entire way from Portugal which I was told (he wasnt mine then) took 6 days....... This is what I was told anyway. Bloody awful. Needless to say he was very down in the dumps on arrival to the UK and went extremely thin etc. He is now very happy though
