Interesting reading - in the 5 yo's there are 52 entered, only 5 of which are mares! No wonder we struggle to have a systematic breeding programme in this country! 2 stallions, includng last year's 4yo PAVO champ Ideal Rock. Some interesting breeding, no one stallion seeming to throw lots of qualifiers as has sometimes been seen in previous years. There is one by Dimaggio and one by Donnersong, will be interesting to keep note of their names. Also 2 by Accondy - I remember admiring him so much and hoping one day I might be able to use him, but alas it was not to be.

No, it isn't! He is also quite small, remember riding past him at Smith's Lawn. Do you know if he has stood at stud yet? There is a Fleetwater Opposition in the 4 yos. Also in the 4 yos is a stallion called Larking About who I believe is a full brother to Up With The Lark. Again, very few mares.

I assume he's covered a few mares but havent seen him advertised anywhere. I like my little horses and I love the Abergwiffy in him so Moon may we go to him when she's a little older if he does more than flop around a few pns (not that I'm thinking prematurely at all!!)
Some nice horses in the 4 yr olds and that stallion I think is a 1/2 bro? Saw Kitty's stallion a few weeks ago and was seriouslyimpressed

What i found interesting reading a little while ago was Kristina Cooks Minors Frolic - he didnt go terribley well at the lower levels and then all of a sudden just flew up the ranks!
He won BYEH too - and I just found it interesting they put a horse first which had had crap form - but there was obviously something there! now look at him.

That is turning into a serious operator. I've not seen it in the flesh but it has a brilliant record, would imagine she's doing Boekelo on it?

ETS: which kind of (maybe) proves that the PAVO series isn't great for picking future greats (well, maybe Jester's Quest's connections would disagree), but BYEH does because it's subjective.

I saw Miners Frolic at Longleat he is a serious horse. Very nice. Ideal Rock always looks really average in his photos does not have that look at me that some have. See Pebbly Aga Khan is there and he is only little but again done nothing special this year. I also saw a few primitive risings in there.

Ideal Rock is lovely you wouldnt even know he is a stallion in and out of the stable, he has covered a few mares, has anyone seen him up close he has two little bone growths on his head like horns.

Do you think Tim Fairburn will ruffle a few feathers this year, as the jumping marks count for so much?

At Blenheim there were only about 5 (i think) mares, out of 85 (i think) starters.
