Glad you all liked the video! Of course, you will all have appreciated that I was forced to use a body double as I'm not supposed to be riding for at least another month (I always view dr's instructions such as this as flexible and open to interpretation lol). Peter Pan, the body double for Sunny was a remarkably lifelike match except Peter Pan's owners were reluctant for me to prise one eye out with a rusty potato peeler. The rest is accurate except Sunny can shift if the motivation is right!
Dead chuffed with my new hat - feels very secure. Having a gentle half hour lesson Saturday and if the weather holds next week, I'm hoping to persuade Llwyncwn to babysit me on a repeat of our ill-fated hack 4 weeks ago. It was me, not Sunny at fault so no real worries but will bring a change of underwear just in case lol xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hey - if you've got anxieties about the fall why don't you try TFT? (Thoughtfield Therapy) I found it invaluable to overcome a bad fall I had (full of "what ifs" if you know what I mean?)
If you want to know more - just let me know!
Okay B_o_F - not meant to be riding for another month, but you have a lesson booked for Saturday *looks for stern emoticon*. Just take it easy hunny! We like you in one piece
. New hat sounds lovely
As an aside, and because I'm a pedantic fool, if you hack out when medics have told you not to, will your insurance be invalidated? Excuse my angle, sleep deprivation and cold-addled brain cell
BoF - so pleased you are feeling better and you new hat is a triumph!! I'm sure Llwyncwn will look after you - I don't suppose she is in hurry to have a re-run of the other week!! Take care and fingers crossed for a good lesson!!
Great lesson thanks peeps. You're right MrsM - not supposed to be riding but if I don't do just a few mins on Sunny in safe, enclosed spaces regularly, my nerve will fail and I'd never ride again. I do a lot of joking to cover a deep sense of self-doubt (keep that bit a secret please) but if you knew the Instructor, you'd know how safe this lesson was going to be. It was just walk and trot for 25 mins and the Instructor hopped on and cantered Sunny on both reins to finish. Transitions and position were the agenda today, and did some good lateral work, just leg yield and a bit of shoulder in. Sunny was the gentleman he always is. Did us both good. I have huge confidence in the Charles Owen Ayr8 hat as it comes further down the back of your head than the usual low profile ones. Won't be going round the lanes again for a while - I will organise a Sunny Sandwich ride with Llwyncwn in front and Rachel the peripatetic RI behind. Sunny sandwiched safely in the middle and we plod all the way. I totally trust Llwyncwn and Rachel to have full control of their horses. Happy, safe, unbattered bunny today xxx
