I know it is a rather minor pony club test, but I have theory on Thursday. I passed the riding part back in the summer but never did the nitty gritty part. As I want to do my B this year coming, I need to pass this one. So, does anyone know what is required in the C+? I am pretty confident as when we did a stable management thing at PC there wasn;t anything I didn't know - however I would like to check!

Thanks

I'm a PC examiner and I think the C+ syllabus is a bit general - like it says "some knowledge" of this and that. TBH the test is designed to bridge what used to be a huge gap between C and B tests, and personally I am looking for a pretty confident candidate who sounds like they know what they are talking about, can put a bandage on competently, and is clear about such things as the rules of feeding etc.

When I'm training candidates for C+ I try to get them to as near B standard as I can - a bit like preparing people for BHS exams - it's best to be overprepared, as with exam nerves and so on, it's amazing how much you forget (and remember five minutes later).

We always hate to fail anybody, but the reality is that people fail themselves, and the most common reason for failing is safety. It's easy to be over-confident and be unsafe around the pony for example.

Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll be fine - if you have any specific questions, pm me, glad to help
