Any recommendations?

I will be riding in trainers a lot so need caged stirrups really.

Have never had caged ones before and not sure where to start!

I have a pair of barefoot stirrups with cages and I didn't get on with them. The cage is soft and easily deformed, mine arrived all bent inwards and no manner of moulding has out them right. This isn't a huge issue but doesn't make them that comfortable or easy to use.

Depending on how much you want to spend, I use Podium stirrups for endurance, there are quite a few other brands but mainly based over in Europe

Urgh same, always bending inwards and the top straps sliding down the sides. No amount of remoulding even with hot water fixed the issue, they just reverted to being innies instead of outies!
Shires do cages that screw on to ordinary stirrups. I find them secure, comfortable and very lightweight.
I used these for a long time, the Shires Matrix stirrup cages, did the job quite nicely.

I also tried the Amidale endurance style caged stirrups, didn't get on with them myself, found them to be too clunky and cumbersome and they make my ankles hurt.

I think I've ridden in this kind of stirrup two or three times, and I really didn't find it any different to a normal stirrup.

There's a lot of choice over here, you can get them in plastic or aluminium, and pay anything between €50 and €200 a pair.

Here are three that I found in as many minutes.
