Yup, I have a Wintec VSD with Cair and I'm really pleased with it. It takes some getting used to after a leather saddle but great once you do get used to it. My horse totally changed when I got this saddle, he's so much more forward and easier when schooling now, so can only presume that he's more comfy!
Flair can be altered but Cair is a totally sealed air pocket which cannot be adjusted.
I have the Wintec VSD with Cair too....seat is very comfy....although the stirrup leathers are set back to make you ride in the correct heal, hip. shoulder alignment which pulls on my calves!! Guess who now knows they have their feet too far forwards!
LOL! That's why i liked the VSD as I didn't have to fight to keep my legs in the right position like I did in my old GP. I have also ridden in the Wintec Dressage with Cair, which was lovely.
The label on my Bates says the air system is guaranteed for 5 years, what happens after that, dos it deflate like a baloon and end up all crumpled ! Do you have to send them away for new air thingies
I've got 18" Bates Cair GP and its very comfortable for my large bum! I bought it for my big boy as a youngster because it has a combo of air panels, flocking and width plates in the pommel that can be adjusted by my saddler.
Had no problems with it at all, horse is going A1 in it and wouldn't want anything else!
ive got a bates had it for 3 years and still love it! only get a num bum on really long rides but thart happens in any saddle! i love my gp soo mch i would like to get the close contact or event version too!
just paid £40 to have some flocking added to our Bates Isabel, it started to stand up more at the back, and the cair system is a sealed unit so can't alter it.
Husband got rid og his other gp bates as it made him keep getting left behind jumping XC, he is currently looking for another saddle and is using a jeffreis falcon for now. He and daughter love the Jeffries Perflexion, but they aren't easy to find at all.
Hi
I have a Wintec VSD, with Cair - I didn't know the stirrup bars were set further back. I do know that My hips were much more open when sitting on it, and my daughter compained bitterly about her sore bum......................She was having to sit correctly
As soon as the CAIR System came on to the market I wanted them for my youngster. I am a bit greedy and wanted a Bates Isabell Dressage and the Bates Event saddle. I had sat on both of these and they were the most comfortable saddles I had sat on. I was trying to work out which to buy first as I only had enough money for one as they are the most expensive saddles (trust me), but I came across a company on the net www.equestrianclearance.com and they do all the Wintec and Bates saddle cheaper than I could find anywhere else, so it didn't take me as long to get the second saddle.
I would recommend the CAIR saddles to anyone they are very comfortable.
