I had flair put in a saddle for a few years and it packed up and caused problems. Had that converted back to flocking by Barbara Egerton in Cheshire near me but not sure if its as easy with Cair. I can give you contact details if you want.
My other saddle is off being changed back from Flair to flocking but had to go back to the manufacturers as the company that did it completely knackered the panels and they have to be replaced as well, not impressed but won't name and shame.
I had my stubben converted from flock to flair years ago for my first horse and then had it converted back to flock for my second horse this year. My saddler in Kent reflocked it for £100. PM me if you want name and number.
I like Flair, my Kieffer dressage saddle is still Flaired. I just changed my Stubben GP back to flock, I can't remember exactly why but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I think the reason was that it just wouldn't fit my 2nd horse right no matter how much air the saddler pumped in or took out. The saddler felt that flocking would give a more acurate fit and it worked.
Because Cair coesnt give the scope to make small changes through flocking adjustments, and being a very CC saddle I want that scope. Also, compressed air is alot harder than Flock, and although my horse goes well in the saddle, he is only 5, and changing all the time, so would be happier with having the infinite adjustment available through flocking as my regular saddler is excellent and would change it in minutes if need be, but doesnt deal with Bates and Cair, and I dont want to go down the route of adding Flock ontop of Cair as I feel I will loose some of the Close contact I have and it would be a pointless exercise when the saddle fits well as standard! I love my saddle (Bates Momentum) but just think yself and the horse would be happier with flock
