I am just coming to the end of a huge bag of Calcined Magnesite, it was recommended to be by a well known hoof guru and has lasted years.

Do I replace it or use Mag Ox?

Which is best?

Cal mag is mag ox, it's just not very refined. You can use purer grades but they cost a lot more.

At fifteen quid for twenty five kilos, if your horse will eat calmag, it's a no brainer!

Thanks for your help. Bought calmag today, 25kg for £13.55, they do eat it, disguised in fast fibre, Hi Fi mollass free, marmite & cinnamon, mind you, they are desperate.

I noticed no real difference moving from cal mag to mag ox and cal mag is far easier on the wallet so guess which one I've re-ordered ;)
